Syllabus
(based
on the textbook Algebra 2 by Larson et all, McDougal Littell, 2007; Chapters 6 -
10)
1. Rational Exponents and Radical Functions (ch. 6): Evaluate nth roots and use rational exponents, apply properties of rational exponents, perform function operations and composition, use inverse functions, graph square root and cube root functions, and solve radical equations.
2.
Exponential and Logarithmic Functions (ch. 7):
Graph exponential growth functions and decay functions, use functions involving e,
evaluate logarithmic and graph logarithmic functions, solve exponential, and
more.
3.
Rational Functions (ch. 8): Model
inverse and joint variation, graph simple rational functions, graph general
rational functions, multiply and divide rational expressions, add and subtract
rational expressions, and solve rational equations.
4. Quadratic Relations and Conic Sections (ch. 9): Apply distance and midpoint formulas, graph &
write equations of parabolas, graph & write equations of circles, translate
and classify conic sessions, and solve quadratic systems.
5. Counting Method and Probability (ch. 10):
Apply the Counting Principle of Permutations, use combinations and Binomial
Theorem, define and use probability, and more.
